A word from Ginny:
'I first heard about Brenda and Barefoot Veg from a friend, who posted photos on her socials with a visually gorgeous box of flowers and vegetables. I had a friend going through a tough time and thought a similar box would be a really nice gift for her, so I got in touch. One box for my friend was enough to get me hooked and I’ve been getting my own seasonal vegetables, flowers and fruit from Barefoot Veg ever since. The selection is always really interesting, thoughtfully put together and super-fresh (picked on the same day). I’ve had great fun looking at the variety in each box and working out what to cook. I’m trying to put more fresh, local and seasonal produce into our diet and reduce our use of ultra processed foods, so having a lovely local grower like Brenda is helping me do that, and reduce the food miles from garden to table.' |

Chocolate in it's purest form!
I spent a long time sourcing organic, as ethical as possible and good quality cacao from Peru. Known for its high magnesium and anti-oxidant and other positive health properties, it also contains theobromine, small amounts of caffeine. The nibs are the purest form of cacao available, air dried and packed full of goodness. They add a yummy crunch to breakfasts, salads and other snacks. The 'paste' can be cut or grated, and mixed with hot water or a milk of your choice for a healthy chocolate drink. Add 20-40g cacao, depending on your taste. I add mine to oats porridge for breakfast. You can add honey, nutmeg, chilli, cinnamon - be experimental to your hearts content! The paste is basically the nibs ground up to make them easier to melt.
