July & August
July's weather has been wet and hot, then dry and hot,
so the plants have taken the opportunity to make a jungle.
The Potager is bursting with colour, and sunflowers, sweet-pea scent and veg,
the long beds plants are jostling for space and the flower beds are looking the best in years.
The lawns are continually being mowed, and the season of gleaning and topiary pruning has begun!
Hollyhocks are absolutely beautiful, as is everywhere.
Sadly blight has been a big problem this year so we cut back the majority of the potato plants in mid July,
and started harvesting soon after, as the squirrels were also enjoying copious amounts of spuds!
We've lost all our outdoor tomatoes,
and the ones the polytunnel have also succumbed to the blight..
It's been perfect weather for for it!
But we have plenty of other produce that's' doing well.

The oversized cherry was removed by Ben and Team from Tree Ninja.
Light in all the greenhouse now!
